Decompress Anti-Stress Bath Ritual

Decompress Anti-Stress Bath Ritual

We all know a bath is a great way to relax…until it isn’t. What I mean is that sometimes we go into a situation looking for an outcome to happen to us without putting in any effort ourselves. It’s happened to you before right? You take a vacation or a weekend off work and end up worrying, stressing, planning, working. The same thing can happen when taking a “relaxing” bath. You need to put intention into it.

This ritual is simple, effective, and something you can do every single day.

You may have heard of sensory deprivation tanks, where you float in saltwater, and are cut off from light and sound. Science has shown that 1 to 1.5 hours of this has numerous benefits including creativity, focus, and especially relaxation.

With this ritual you can treat your bath as a mini-sensory deprivation tank.

  1. Fill your bath just enough that if you lie down, your ears are covered.
  2. Turn out the lights.
  3. Lie on your back in the bathtub with your ears submerged, close your eyes, and let your mind wander.

Yes, that’s really all there is to it.

It’s often said that dreaming is a way for the brain to process your day. With this anti-stress ritual, you can give yourself a chance to do just that without having to wait for bedtime.
